What “sugar-free” actually means on a gummy platform
A gummy platform that supports “sugar-free” is not simply removing sugar from an existing recipe — sugar is not a flavour ingredient in a gummy matrix, it is one half of the gel and body-forming system alongside pectin and glucose syrup. Deciding whether sugar-free is the right call for this SKU
Start with the audience question, not the formulation question: does the target customer for this specific SKU actively look for a sugar-free claim, or is the ask coming from an internal preference rather than a demonstrated buyer signal? The formulation work only pays off when the answer is genuinely the former.
